  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Please pray for my community (horrific accident w/18 mo old)

This is a graphic post, but I feel like the more I type, the more specific the prayer requests and the more prayer you will put in to it.

On Tuesday afternoon we had a horrific accident happen here. A dad was riding his 18 month old daughter in a crate on a trike bike, around their property. There was a rope in the crate and the child got the rope around her neck and the other end fell and got wrapped around the axle. The baby was decapitated and the father did not know until he got off of the bike to open a gate and the childs body was in there. He then ran to the house with the body only and the mother was obviously hysterical. The father went to look for the head and could not find it. The police found it and the mother was just rocking the baby's body inside and refused to turn loose. She held the child all the way to the hospital about 30 min and still did not want to turn loose. This mother had to hold her child like that for almost an hour and had to pick out what her daughter will be buried in.

This little girl would have been in my daughters class in school and it has hit my small town extremely hard. The parents, grandparents, cousins, everyone involved is having a ton of problems with this. Just typing this has got to me again. Please pray for everyone, as I cannot imagine anything worse than this happening. This couple has a 6 year old that was fortunately not home at the time of this accident.

Thank you for your prayers for them and everyone involved, since I have a daughter this age it really hit home. Be sure you guys all give your kids a huge hug tonight.

I certainly will hug my child for a long time tonight. Brings things to reality reading posts like this. I am really somber right now in thought about family. I wish the parents the best. That is a tragedy for the town as well.

Defintely prayers sent as the parents will have a tremendous road ahead not only for themselves, but with their other child who will have to somehow understand what happened to their little sister.

Thanks guys for all of the prayers, the funeral is today and about half of the office is out. I cannot even imagine how awful this would be.

I don't know if I would still be with you guys, because I do not know if I could live with that. I just don't think I am strong enough, but you have to be if you have another child.

I say pics or shens.

There is no way that this is true.

As a bike rider myself, you would know if you got rope twisted up in your axle.

Also, you would feel some resistance.

Even if the baby DID get decapitated, that would be a huge amount of force (heads are attached pretty damned securely) - large enough to be easily noticed as something being horribly wrong.

A rope wouldn't just squeeze through a neck like butter, even that of an 18 month old child.

Also, after searching and scouring I have yet to see this in any news media at all. Something like this surely would have made national news due to the total craziness of it.

If this is the story that the father was coming up with, I'd be looking very closely at the case (if it even exists).

Also he stuffed his kid in a crate? That right there is grounds for child endangerment/neglect. The kid should have been in a proper child seat whether on a bike or in a car.

That's a big post for your first one. Judging by your username, I am guessing you are a memeber here under another name.

I would hope that this is not a false post. I do think your post is a bit out of line and could have been taken to PM or posted in a better manner.

Why is it out of line? I'm just stating some facts.

Either the OP is not factual, is missing critical information, or if it is factual - that dad should be under investigation big time.

And no I'm not some other member here. I found this linked on another forum and decided to register and post. And I happen to be a fan of Monty Python.

If the OP is false, I'm sure that would probably piss off some people, and it would be pretty horrible of a thing for the OP to do to post something like that if it weren't true.
