  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Pray for Brayden

Craig Mac

It can happen in a second. You are cruising through life day-by-day and bam you get the news that will change your life forever. On February 11, 2011 two of my dearest friends Doug and Janet Holmes were given the news that their precious 2 year old son, Brayden, had a brain tumor.

Doug has been a good friend of mine for several years now and we have played many rounds of golf, poker tournaments as well as smoked many cigars together. Doug is actually the guy who gave me the first bit of cigar knowledge that started my journey in to this hobby. I had smoked cheap cigars on and off for years until one day in Myrtle Beach we were in a shop and he was telling me about the different countries, wrappers, ect... From that day on my curiosity pulled me in. So he is the guy responsible for me being here.

Doug will be taking a leave from his job for 6-12 months and relocating to TN to be with his son at St Jude's Hospital. All of us are wondering what we can do right now to help out and I see some local poker tournaments and several other things happening.

A Facebook page has been set up and donations can be made through here http://www.facebook.com/home.php?src=fftb#!/BucksforBrayden

I am holding a very heavy heart for a true friend and fellow BOTL right now and hope that his son makes a full recovery and gets a chance to live a full wonderful life. Thanks for reading.

Wow Craig, that's a horrible thing that your friends are dealing with. Please send them best wishes from my wife and I. Be strong for your friends because they will need it from the people who care.

Prayers sent to your friends and that most likely extremely frightened little boy...

Being a parent, I couldn't begin to imagine the pain they must be going through. Instill in your friend Craig to never lose hope.....as that's all that he might have for the time being.

I wish them all the very best, and Brayden a swift recovery.

Man...as someone that got that same news about his father a few months ago, I can truly relate. I can only imagine what that news feels like when its a child. It's so unfair. Your friends will need your support through this tuff time. Having a support system is crucial. I've learned a ton about brain tumors over the past several months. Let me know if there's anything I can do. Little Brayden will be in my prayers.

Thoughts and prayers for them. I look at my small children here and I can't imagine how they deal with it. I have to remind myself often how blessed I am. I will be keeping your friend's family in my prayers.

I hate to hear things like this happening, especially to young kids who haven't had a chance in life. Hopefully Brayden pulls through.

Prayers and donation sent.

Going through these situations is hard on everyone involved, its nice to see they have friends and family like you to support them Craig. I grew up watching my brother go through a number of life threatening scenarios and it never got any easier, but I can't imagine what it would be like with your own son or daughter on the line. I really hope this turns out well for Brayden and his family.
