Preliminary Review* Tatuaje CQ1
*Note: This is really just a preliminary review, as I usually smoke at least 3 cigars for a full review.
Prelight
Slightly rough Sumatra wrapper with a bit of oil, Slightly loose cold draw gave up chocolate and leather.
First Third
Initial blast of burnt molasses, leather, and espresso. Easy burn with ample smoke.
Second Third
Molasses and espresso prevailed with notes of pepper beginning to build in the background. The draw and burn are both good.
Last Third
A strong finish of pepper molasses/chocolate and pepper, with a creamy mouth feel. Not a single touch up was neede Typical Tat construction is wonderful.
Closing
Obviously this was smoked right off the truck, after weeks of varying temperatures and fluctuating humidity. The initial overall flavor profile indicated that this will be a great cigar after some rest in the humi, as it was a bit harsh. Cant wait to not only let these rest for a few weeks, but I also think this is a great candidate to put down for a year or more to let these great flavors round out.
