  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I'm in the market for a reliable, classy lighter. I've been considering either the Prometheus Hammer or the Prometheus Liquid. Do any of you have any feedback that might help me? Thanks in advance.

Thanks....Anybody else have the Prometheus??? I couldn't find any reviews on the Hammer other than on Cigar Affecienado.

I wouldn't use a Prometheus or buy one if I was given one. I've spent more money on this crappy product in the year from 2000 - 2002 and they lost their chance for me to buy anything else. Their warranty sucks right along with their company...they told me I could send it back as long as I paid for shipping both ways...they can $hit and fall in it.

If you're in the market for a lighter I'd buy a xikar(lifetime warranty) or step up and buy a dupont extend. I don't have experience with the new age duponts but their stuff out of paris is top notch

Well....I would really like a S.T.DuPont Xtend but it's just cost prohibitive. It's twice as much as a Prometheus or the Lotus L29. Rather spend the difference on a good smoke.

With this many negative reviews, I would never even consider one of their lighters...
If you go Xikar, you are set for life as long as you don't lose it... and some of their lighters are like 25 bux.

I have 2 of them.... Great lighters.... Both are Travelers....I have one with a bad seal that would not light any more and took it to the shop I bought it at... sent it in for repair... works better that when I bought it new... The tanks seals were bad. Great Customer service!!!

Keep this in mind... the Park brother created Prometheus... they split and one has Prometheus and the other Vector....

I have a drawer full of lighters all brands you can imagine they all have problems. I have been drooling over this set for months and after reading hundreds of reviews about Dupont a whole bunch of us were herfing today and I once again looked offered 20% less and got my baby. Thanks Pete very cool lighter scheme. and now I think I may finally have one that will last and work did I mention I think it will work!!!!
