Smoke Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Toro
Construction - Great construction. Not too firm, but no spongy spots at all. Fairly veiny wrapper with minimal bumps. Beautiful shade of brown with no shine/sheen.
Pre-light Draw - I never get much from pre-light draws and this one is no different. Effortless draw though.
First Draw lit - Medium spice and mild grass on the first two puffs.
1st 3rd - Grassy note from first draw disappears and turns into sweet tobacco and butterscotch. Burn a bit wonky, but I'll leave it and see if it corrects itself. Spice disappears and sweetness takes a back seat to leather and hay.
2nd 3rd - Major shift in strength as I start the second third. As I smoke thru, this strength tapers off though. Many highs and lows so far which I really enjoy in a cigar. Retro hale is nice and I pick up a non offensive oily taste. Towards the end of this third, the sweetness starts picking up again.
3rd 3rd - The last third has an interesting leather and toffee note on the retrohale. The oily taste is still there but is subsiding. Picking up faint, but sharp floral notes as well. Strength dips back to medium. Finished nice and cool with a slight licorice note.
Final Thoughts:
Decent smoke that I would like to have a few laying around. Strength never went past medium full but did dip down to mild medium at times. Smoke output was about average.
