  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

When these first came out Alec Bradley hosted a smoker at our B&M to try this new smoke. Problem was that they didn't give them out and you had to buy one. They are not cheap in California but I bought one and was a little POd. I also thought it sucked and never tried another one breaking one of my cardinal rules, "Always try at least three". I even made fun of Jeff for liking them. They don't sell well at our B&M so I thought Yep right on the money, cigar sucks.

Well a couple of you have bombed me with these which I poliely put in the very bottom of my moochador hoping they would disappear. Well they didnt and tonight I thought, a gift is a gift and lit up the Imperator. Very firm cigar and when I cut it I thought it would be tight. A firm draw but a good one left me pleasantly surprised. Unlit draw gave me lots of tobacco, earth and a nice sweetness. Firing it up, most sweetness, almost honeyed smoke. And lots of smoke, rich and thick. Medium cigar, leather notes, earthy. I like this cigar. First half retained the honey and leather. On the downside it has a terrible burn and constantly had to be touched up. Last third it picked up a little bitterness but in a good way.

All in all a very nice cigar. I humbly apologise to those that I may have mislead. Try it, you will like it.

I like a man who can admit when he's "somewhat" wrong!!

Thanks for the review Chuck!! I, like you, have passed on these when given the chance. I might have to pick one up and give it a shot!

These are one of the sticks I go to lots of times. The tempus is great and the SCR I find is also very good. They have a cameroon stick thats called Triology I think. Looking to try that one also.

I had the Tempus Magistri the other day at CI and it was quite enjoyable.

I'm with xxddco, never smoked a Tempus I didn't like.

Rumor is the Tempus is a rejected blend of Dion's Illusione (or was it the Cruzado...?). Dion wanted more complexity, or so I hear. That said I do like the Tempus, I just end up grabbing an Illusione instead.
