  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Bought a cheapie punch the other day at the local B&M. Used it a few times and it has quickly surpassed the guillotine as my favorite cigar cutter. And I love that I have it attached to my key chain so it goes everywhere with me  . So what's a good quality punch that will last me a looooong time??

I didn't think about that Marty, but yeah I bet that's pretty handy. My biggest concern is how well one is going to stand up being carried around on my key chain. Things tend to get rather beat up in my pocket. Going to see how long this cheapie lasts and then decide if a more expensive/nicer replacement is worth it. I've seen the Xikar before and it's pretty cool...not terribly expensive either at about half the cost of their cheaper guillotine cutter. Does it have the lifetime warranty too??

I picked up a cheap punch a couple weeks ago and love it. I like the fact that it's harder to mutilate the cap than with a cutter. Nice tip on TSA as well. Though I wouldn't put it past them to complain anyway. :-/

I just use the ones that are a 2 piece design almost like a flexible plastic and the actual punch blade slides inside. I paid like $5 i think.

Picked up a cheap punch cutter in my local B&M a few months back. Have been using it all the time & like the punch cut... cap stays intact.

Waiting to loose or break it before picking up a Xikar. They are usually on Monster for about $19.

Do the Xikar's come in diff sizes? 007 & 009???

I agree Dan. I have a bunch of those cheapies I travel with because the TSA tends to leave them alone.
I travel a lot and can confirm this... whenever I traveled with one the TSA never even question it. I've lost lighters and cutters in the past, sometimes just because I forgot that I had them with me.
