  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I just found out that these are being rolled now and fresh ones will be available in a few weeks. I got concerned when I noticed that I didn't see any 2012s on the market. Thought I would pass it along.

What's the general opinion on these? I'm very unfamiliar with QDO, but for the price and taking into consideration that they're rolled at the Partagas factory, I'd assume they're quality sticks. What are they comparable to, if anything?

^ They are a fantastic under-the-radar brand and takes up just a very small percentage of production from the Island...They aren't comparable to anything, really, as they have a distinct characteristic in my opinion. They are considered the lightest from the island but in my experience they pick up considerably in the last third to a medium-full. They can be slightly floral and have excellent citrus notes. Delicious, delicious cigars especially with just a few years on them and the aged ones are magnificent. The Gran Coronas from 06 are outstanding- and a real journey of a cigar- and the Coronas from 11 are smoking very, very well right now. Construction has always been spot-on. If you can find Panetelas pick them up and don't look back. The entire line is a home-run for me.

The Coronas are a great smoke, but need a few year's age. My 09s were quite bland when fresh, but by 2012 had developed a lovely sweet medium bodied flavor. That box is now almost gone, but a couple boxes of 2010s are patiently waiting.

I seem to find a fair amount of QDOs with age on them; quite similar to SCDLH. Both are a welcome treat from the typical CC rotation of the more well known brands... if you like that sort of departure.

I love the QdO Corona and considering the quality of the tobacco 2011+ cigars have been rolled with I may have to stock a few boxes of these gems.

Smoked a couple from March '13 last weekend, and they were a couple of the best "fresh" cigars I have smoked in a while.
