BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

OOPS:stretchgr It was still ont the lathe then, now it's finished. I'm trying out my new photo tent. Trying to get better at my pics. It's gone now. On its way to the event. I wish we had events that size here. In AZ you can't even smoke within 50 feet of any establishment let alone near a restaurant.

Ahhh, that's what it (you smart ass) is! I'm thinking some kind of stone.
Thought the same thing. But I don't know much about stones...
Thanks for asking. The center is done with coral inlace chips in an epoxy concoction. I do this because it's just about impossible to make all the pieces of wood come together perfectly at the point. When I apply glue to the pieces they curl up at the tips. It requires extensive clamping on each segment just to get a tight glue joint. To help cure this problem, I do the inlace.
This is kind of funny but this is my first wood ashtray I made a few months ago and no burns yet. I use this daily. As long as no one puts out a frickin cigarette in it it should be fine. These are for cigars only. Sorry Marboro man.:nono: I still haven't made one of the nice ones for myself.:scratchhe I guess the winner could find a glass insert to sit in it too.
