  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Rick, I know you said Bourbon, as opposed to Whiskey, but since you mentioned the possible wheat aspect of Maker's Mark....

If you like wheat, you should try Small Batch Bernheim Original Kentucky Straight Wheat Whiskey.

Bernheim is the only type of straight whiskey which uses wheat. For me the result is a full-bodied, sweet, yet smooth whiskey that goes well with cigars.
I do like MM so I think I'll have to give Bernheim a try when funds allow again.

So, I'm more of a scotch and rye drinker but after reading some of the posts here, I thought I would try bourbon, so yesterday I picked up a bottle of Buffalo Trace. My first bourbon ever. I can't say I didn't like it but it is very different from scotch and rye. Completely different flavor profile. Sort of sweet and sour at the same time. Also picked up some grass and citrus flavors. Sounds weird, I know, but thats what it tasted like to me. I can see how one could acquire a taste for it.
