A buddy of mine had this question and I am trying to find the answer for him...

"For ISOMs it is pretty easy to know when the cigar is made the box code is on the box,but for others I haven't figured out yet how to find the manufacture date to know how long to age it."

For non-cubans, I would just go by the date you bought them. I don't know of many that use dates in their boxes. Though, I think Padron does with the '64 and '26 line.

Certain NC's now carry a box date, Tatuaje, Padilla and La Flor Dominicana. The rest is your best guess. Maybe more will start.

BTW, the box code only tells you when the cigars were boxed, not necessarily when they were made.

I usually go by when I buy them.. but I gotta be honest, being a mostly NC guy at the moment, I don't do a lot of aging.. Lifes too short not to smoke.
