I figure I will leave the good, in depth, high quality picture reviews to the professionals. However, here is a brief review of today's smoke.
Stick:
Camacho Triple Maduro (50x4.5)
Price: $10.50 usd
Drink of choice: Coke
Construction:
7.5/10
Beautiful looking; I thought the bands were gorgeous (there was one on the foot as well). Good firm feel, minimal veins. However, there was a patch on the wrapper that looked really sloppy.
Burn: 8/10
Very even, but not razor sharp. It did not require any touch ups.
Draw: 7.5/10
Very good, not great. It seemed to improve slightly after the first 1/3.
Ash:
Light gray. It held on until the burn line reached the bottom of the band, it landed with an audible thud lol
Body:
Medium to full. I think the Coke may have reduced the full "effect" of the cigar, so full may be a more appropriate description.
Flavors:
Lots of chocolate! It tasted like eating a very rich, milk chocolate candy bar. There were also strong notes of black cherry, as well as cappuccino. Yes, I do mean cappuccino - not espresso, nor coffee. It was very interesting. The chocolate flavor evolved into more of a slightly bitter dark chocolate in the final third. And for just a couple puffs right before the ash took a dive, there were slight hints of a jerky/smoked meat/not entirely sure how to describe it flavor.
It had a long finish and left a spice in the back of my mouth.
Worth the money?: In my opinion, yes. I very much enjoyed this smoke.
Would I recommend it?: Yes. But, I think most people would enjoy the 6x60 vitola over this one. Regardless, I say it's worth checking out.
Thanks for reading!
