  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I hate USPS.. but it seems they come through in the clutch today and shipped on time, finally.

All the talk about the Rabbit Air last week got me thinking and after a year or so of debating I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a Rabbit Air and it came in today.

Update #1 (1/13/2014)

Alright so first cigar smoked; this thing is nice. Wonderful at clearing a room of smoke and filtering air. BUT as we have all discussed prior you need an intake of fresh air, and exhaust in order to truly have a functioning smoke room. In that regard this is an excellent addition to my (or anyones) set-up. BUT, i will smoke without the exhaust and intake on and see how well the unit works as a stand alone.

As a side note I ordered another filter set tonight from Famous Smoke (with the BOTL.ORG code) and it was 68$ SHIPPED! awesome price considering through Rabbit Air they are 90$ to your door. I ordered a second set to put in when im not smoking to get better life out of the set... overkill I know, but thats how I roll :)

U can take out the whole set. But unless u have a extra set holder/bracket. You need to take then out individually and reinsert them all back into their cases and back into the main case holder. Maybe you bought the extra bracket that pull out to hold all of the filters?

Yup, Extra large bracket, extra main filter, and extra 2 brackets in case one breaks. I hear you on the pain of changing out the customizable filter from the bracket, so I grabbed an extra for quick switching. I was just commenting on the ease of getting out the actual set and cover

So if I buy one of these for my den, it will filter all the cigar smoke?

IMO owning one for over a year. No. Will it help considerably? Yes.
Is it worth over 500.00 plus 80.00 6 month filter changes? That's for every person to decide.
Is there anything else out there that will do better? Not sure personally.
Some say this thing works very well at eliminating smoke smell.

I'd probably get ahold of Bballbaby and see if he's still having good results with his sharp plasmacluster unit. He's had it over a year.
If I went this route I'd also just get a 100.00 dollar hepa unit and combine the 2 (sharp plasmacluster/100 hepa unit.)

As mentioned earlier in the post this will not be effective in its own as a filtration unit for smoke, basically nothing is. There are some that come close but there isn't a unit that will work as a stand-alone in a sealed room that will make it like you never smoked in the room. Period. You need intake of fresh air, and exhaust.

You guys with man-caves are my hero's. Makes my recent wineador purchase feel like I got my first slingshot and you guys are talking about your 50 cal's.

Thanks for posting the pictures of all of your builds/filtration systems and the motivation.

That's awesome, didn't even think to look at them for filters, I will definately use them when I need to replace mine. Congrats on your purchase.

In for future updates. I've been considering a rabbit myself
The wife and I love ours, we have two Boxers and needed it for pet dander. I leave it on the auto setting and when the play in the room that thing kicks on right away. We feel it's a great investment just for allergies alone.
