I just wanted to report that Cigar Aficionado just gave the Saint Luis Rey Serie A a 92 and I have 25 of those bad boys on the way!!!

Also, these ranked high recently.

Cohiba Siglo III 91
Padron Serie 1926 No 2 91 (Have these as well)
Oliva Master Blends 2 Robusto 91
Arturo Fuente Double Chateau Fuente Sun Grown 90
Partagas 8-9-8 Varnished 89 (Have some and I would rank higher)

The Padron 1926 40th Anniversary 93 (Have these)

Anybody else ring in on some of these or the others? I am hard up for some cigar talk here people!!!

by the way, CA ratings are absolute dogshit.

Not to say that some of their top smokes aren't good, but some of their shit is fucking whacked.

Look at their actual top smokes rankings. some of that shit is just hard to understand. I think the dominant theory is that they give extra "points" and stuff to companies that spend lots of advertising $ with them.

I'll try to fingd the current "tankings" and some of that shit will make your head hurt.

SLR A's are fucking great though, in my experience.

I agree with you on some of the rankings, that is the reason I listed smokes that I had either heard good things about or tried meself!

It is hard to argue with them giving the Fuente Fuente OpusX Double Corona the #1 spot for Cigar of the Year!

oh, I think another thing about their ratings is that they tend to underrepresent Cubans alot.

also, how the hell is any Olivia Masterblend as good as an Espendido. That's crazy.

CRAZY I TELL YA!

but the Double Corona isn't even the best Opus X, according to most smokers.
when I said "most smokers", I meant me and some other dudes.

Quadry, my point is that you know better than CA does what a good cigar is. Seriously.

I love to look at their ratings and ALOT of times I agree with them. SOmetimes, it's just unexplainable.

there. are we still friends now?

there are some other examples i can bring up that were more comical than previously mentioned, who cares what ratings they give any cigar, taste is relative to what you prefer anyway, if you like the cigar that should be enough.

i'd use www.top25cigar.com as a better guage of a good cigar.

Wow! I got ass raped there! I kind of liked it!

Hey, I like reading the magazine, as it is about the only one and I am not ashamed to admit it. I agree completely on the rankings and how it is a matter of taste. I also agree that Cubans are way under represented in the magazine. I do however like reading about new cigars that are coming out that I can buy down at my local shop and about individuals that make cigars or are the founder of a company.

I see a direct coorelation between ads in the magazine and some ratings. They way, way under rated the Mag 50 and also the Monte "C". They also way overrated a few that advertise like crazy with them.

Thanks for coming to my defense there Legends! Scott went nuts on me. He was nuttier than a squirrel turd.

times like this, I'm really glad thatone of my good friends lives in Arkansas. otherwise, i'd never hear shit like this.

I also liked the time I said I'd never really heard much about Alltell Cellular, and you said," Shit man. Around these parts, Alltell walks the dog!"
