I had the pleasure of meeting Antonio of Reinado Cigars at the BOTL IPCPR herf last thursday. He gifted me one of his new Grand Empire Reserves and I decided to light it up today.
Size: 5 x 55 Square Box Press
Nicaraguan Puro
Wrapper: Habano Maduro
Retail : $9.95
The cigar had great construction. Very nice, easy draw. Beautiful wrapper as well.
The cigar opened up with a decent amount of spice. The overall profile of this cigar was cedar, cocoa, hints of coffee and a lingering vanilla flavor on the palate. It paired great with a cup of coffee and was medium-full in body. It never got bitter or harsh, but had some great spice throughout. The pepper through the nose was excellent and left me with a tingling sensation. It reminded me most of an Oliva V maduro, but a little more milder in strength. Overall it was an excellent cigar and well worth my time. I would definitely recommend anyone giving this cigar a try. It was my first maduro in a few months and I forgot how much I enjoy them.
Great stuff, Antonio. Can't wait to try the rest of your line (just ordered some Habanitos).
