Cigar:Reposado '96
Size :7"x58 Salomon Connecticut
Wrapper: Connecticut
Filler : Nicaragua Cuban Seed
Drink: Water
Cutter: Guillotine
Lighter Ronson Torch
Facts: AJ Fernandez creation
Reatailer: C-Bid
I let these sit in the Humi for about 2 months before torching the first one, I then smoked the remaining 4 over the next 5 months. The last one was today and they seem to improve with age. although I did enjoy the first one very much.
Prelight: Nice smooth wrapper oily wrapper, nice color, a few soft spots but nothing to stress over.
1st 3rd: The opening flavor contains a pretty strong pepper flavor. This starts to soften and stay in the background turning more to a creamy taste with a hint of sweetness, maybe a bit of mocha. The ash held on for a good 2 inches or so. Also produced lots of smoke which I really like.
2nd 3rd: The pepper flavor has completely dissipated and picked up more of the mocha flavor, great burn nice and even, Still making a ton of smoke
3rd 3rd: The final third has really mellowed out, and I have decided this is a medium bodied Nicaraguan cigar. The slight hint of pepper has returned. This burnt for about 2 hours.
Bottom Line: I bought a 5 pack on C-bid for $13.00 making this a $2.60 stick. CI sells them in a box of 40 for $99 making them $2.47 a stick.
I would definitely buy it again, seeing it was a pretty enjoyable Salomon for under $3. Definetly will buy more and recommend it.
