Well, I'll be popping my cherry with this review. I smoked the VSG ER on a clean palate. The cigar was accompanied by water, so as to not introduce any outside flavors. The first thing I noticed about this cigar was the unbelievably yellow cello. I have never seen anything like it. The band has also yellowed considerably because of the oils. This cigar has an awesome pre-light smell. I carefully clipped and lit this cigar. No issues here. The wrapper on this cigar is pretty ugly, like a 15 year old boys pimpled face. Immediate first impression is of a light Opus flavor and a strong Ashton background. The draw is perfect and remains so throughout. Through the first 1/3 I lose all Opus flavor and realize that this is truly an Ashton cigar. I can't pin down the dominant flavor, but it is sweet and coats the roof of my mouth. The first ash falls at 3/4" and is the largest ash of the smoke. The next 1/3 continues with the creamy Ashton flavor and introduces a raisin-like flavor. A bit of salt is also something I pick up in this portion of the cigar. The last 1/3 is the same and finishes without a bang. My conclusion is, this is a very good cigar on the downward side of it's flavor profile. I enjoyed very much and will enjoy the others that I have. I would say, smoke these soon. You don't want to lose any more of the flavor that these sticks have. I give this stick an 8.
