Alright ladies and gents, here comes another one!!
Yesterday I smoked the Alec Bradley MAXX cigar, which was gifted to me by Liteumup. (Thank you very much by the way!)
This cigar is known as the Alec Bradley MAXX "The Fix". It measures in at a thick 58 RG, and a nice, 5''. It's a handsome medium to dark brown, with a slight bit of toothiness to it. Firm to the touch, but not hard by any means.
The pre-light draw has some nice, light woody flavors.
It's a nice, warm 32 degrees here in Albany, and the wind is at a minimum. I've got to run an errand and mail a little bomb to my roommate from last semester who moved out because he couldn't afford it anymore. I introduced him to cigars, and thought I'd give him a little reminder of what he smoked when he first started.
Lighting up was easy due to the lack of wind, which is usually an issue for me while sparking up. Right off the bat, I get some peppery blasts through the nose, with a nice base flavor of hay. Very tasty so far. A woodiness comes through towards the end of the first third, which was unexpected to me.
The spice subsides as I enter into the second third, and a bit of cocoa flavor emerges. I usually don't detect cocoa in cigars, but it was quite prominent in this one. Towards the end of the second third, a strange chalkiness texture comes through, similar to what I tasted in my first Black Pearl cigar.
The burn wasn't too great, but it could have been due to the fact that I was walking ans smoking. Nothing a little fire couldn't correct.
Entering the final third, the spice comes back stronger than before. It made my eyes water a bit while retrohaling. There was also a bit of a harsh tongue bite at the end, but it subsided before my final few puffs. It finished with a woody-cocoa mix, and it was very pleasant to smoke.
Sorry about the bombard of pictures towards the end, I wanted to get them all in, and I didn't space them out like I usually do.
This was a very nice smoke, especially at the price. (About $5 a single) The ring gauge was a bit much for me, but didn't cause any real problems along the way.
Hope you guys enjoyed another review!!
See ya next time
