Hey everyone, today I enjoyed a Petrus Rothschild that was gifted to me by Strife. This cigar was a nice-medium to light brown in color, with a nice wrapper. It had a nice, smooth pre-light draw with light, leafy flavors. The cigar measures up at 50 RG and 4.7''.
It was much nicer today than it was during my last review of the Pinar Del Rio stick. No wind, and a bit of sun.
The light up was nice and easy, and the draw was near perfect.
The flavors I got from the start were some nice spice through the nose, weak yet still there, and very strong notes of wood.
The cigar really didn't develop much, and had the same flavor profile throughout the first and second third.
The one change I did notice was the spice. The spice slowly built up through the cigar, resulting in quite a peppery kick in the last third. This was the only thing that really made this cigar remotely interesting. For the price, this wasn't a bad stick, but talking with other BOTL's on the chat who have had this stick claimed that they are really inconsistent, making it a bad choice for a go-to stick. I myself never even heard of it until I got it in the bomb.
Overall it was quite plain, the flavor was good, and it was mild to medium bodied. It really lacked in complexity and dimension though, which is the only reason it didn't get great marks from me.
Save your 2-3 bucks, and pick up a different stick. It definitely was nice to try though!
And an artsy pic:
Thanks for reading, and happy smoking!!
