  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Alright ladies and gents, so I braved the Albany snow in order to have a stick, and I was pleasantly surprised!

This cigar was gifted to me by strife, and before that, I've never heard of it before. This stick is a 6'' by 38 RG. I usually go for stuff a bit thicker, but I'm trying to diversify my smoking preferences.

This cigar is a beautiful dark brown, with veins definitely visible, yet subtle. It had a peppery, leathery aroma, and a medium to tight draw on it.

It lit up quite easily, and I immediately tasted pepper. Nice pepper through the nose, with a surprisingly smooth finish.

The weather was nice and cold, but not windy at all which was nice. I absolutely LOVE the snow, so that's why I decided to enjoy a stick today.

The stick burned quite well in the beginning, but after the first third, the ash was crooked and the burn uneven. It required a few touchups, but it might have been because of the snow somehow.

I was very confused with this stick. I could not divide the flavor profile into thirds, as it changed throughout the cigar. It started off peppery, and transformed almost immediately into a sweeter cigar. This transition kept up throughout the whole stick, changing maybe 5 or 6 times. It had a surprisingly sweet finish, and left my mouth a bit "ashy" at the end.

The aroma coming off the stick was a kind of bitter bourbon smell, similar to what I get off of other sticks with a darker wrapper.

Overall this cigar was pretty good, and I really enjoyed the lancero aspect of it.

You sure got that right! "Kids" just don't understand what we're all about. Also, a university smoking lounge would be quite nice!

Thanks for comments guys!

I'm really fond of the Oliva Serie V line...delicious, full bodied, all that jazz. Also, though I've only had a few tats, they are the most flavorful and supurb smokes I have had! The T110 is quite a powerhouse! Also like padron, punch, CAO (Italia, Brazilia, America) amongst others. I've got to spread my wings and seek out different sticks than I usually smoke at my local shop. Hell, most of my stash is from bombs and trades from most generous brothers!!

Can't believe I just saw this. Glad you enjoyed it. The rumor mill has it that this is a failed attempt by Drew Estates at a Liga Privada #9 Lancero and sold to Famous under condition that they never reveal it's origins. The description Famous gives is a dead ringer for the LP9 including the blend.

Personally, not a bad smoke for the price but I don't think they're even close to the #9.
