Thought I would do a review on a smoke I picked up recently that seems to popping up on the board of late. The morning was great when I started and just as I got to the bottom of the band an 1 1/2 later it was pouring rain so I didnt get all the way way to end.
La Aurora 107 Belicoso 6.2 x 54
Sun Grown wrapper
Aged binder and filler from Nic and the Dominican
Med-Full Body
I paid $9.00
Construction and color were great with minimal veins. Firm with no soft spots and an excellent pre-light draw that had a hint of spice but mainly sweet tobacco.
Cigar lit easily without having to draw on it at all. Tons of smoke and immediate flavors of leather and that sweet tobacco taste. Just enough spice to tell it was there, but not a bomb at all.
Into the first 1/3 reminded me vaguely of an Opus but not quite. Burn started out a bit crooked but corrected quickly. Ash was grey speckled and held on to about 1.5".
Flavors has changed to more of a woodsy taste with the spice coming on very strong. Smoke output is incredible and the burn is perfect.
1:05 in and the spice has subsided and the flavors mellowed back into the original leather and sweet tobacco. This is a great cigar.
1:20 in and just getting to the bottom of the band and it's starting to rain
1:30 in and it's pouring so I'll have to cut this off.
Overall:
Great cigar!! This is only the second La Aurora I have ever smoked, but one that I will have on hand in the future. Hope you all have a great day and stay dry.
