  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

L'Esprit de Verite 2009

L'Esprit de Verite 2009
Size: 5 x 50
Price: $20.00
The tobacco is from Pepin's La Estrella farm consisting of Habano Criollo, Criollo 98 and Pelo de Oro.
Construction: Firm, smooth, slightly vainy, flawless

It is a beautiful day in sunny California. I just had a big sushi lunch. I pop the top on a Firestone Abacus Barley Wine Ale (13% ABV), feeling good and so I decided to light up my one and only pre-release L'Esprit de Verite 2009

1/3 Wood, Toast, Butter, mild hints of Cinnamon, touch of fig

2/3 I am loving the butter, incredibly smooth, creamy, a little pepper

3/3 The right amount of pepper, more butter and cream, wood, small amount of nut (maybe cashew?)

Burn time: appox. 45 mins

The burn was pure perfection start to finish. Zero wrapper issues, like some complained about with a few of the 2008 sticks. This cigar is very unique. I would not describe it as complex, but instead, absolutely consistent. It's delicious though. I think Pete might have a hit on his hands with this one. I'm pretty sure most everyone will like it more than the 2008. Best of all these sticks are ready to smoke!!!

I'm am sure you guys know you can order your boxes in advance for special pricing. I highly recommend this cigar!

I have a lot of poker games are my house. So I kind of search and collect card themed ashtrays. Not sure where I picked this one up. Maybe ebay? This one seems to be most peoples favorite:

It's not relevant to the cigar itself, but damn I wish Pete would do something about the face of the main band. It looks like something scanned into MS Paint and typed on. At least the second band adds something.

Sounds great!

Pa,
Thanks for the review. I'm now thinking I should have bought more of the robustos. I can't wait to get these.

I loved the 2008's and they can be had for well below $20 a stick! Can't wait to try the 09.....great review!

The 2009 release will be available for $15 if your local B&M jumped on the early pricing. Tatuaje is allowing retailers to sell the sticks for whatever price they locked in at which will make this a much more attractive to most. I'm looking forward to this one.
