  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Have really been looking forward to trying this new blend from LFD, and today was a great sunny day to sit down and give it a shot. The Air Bender Matatan is a nicely constructed robusto size with no visible flaws. I did not notice much prelight flavor or aroma other than a rich tobacco.

Once lit the cigar had a good dose of spice with a strong cedar. After the first few puffs the spice developes into a very nice mix of cinnamon and cloves. Right out of the gate I know I am in for a treat!

At the half way point the spice and cedar both mellow a bit down to a medium body and flavor, and I can still detect the nice cinnamon and cloves on the finish. The burn thus far has been respectable but the ash flowered and is very flakey.

In the home stretch the cinnamon and clove spice goes back up a notch with a added dash of black pepper. There is also a slight barnyard flavor of hay added to the mix. The spice continued to gain strength down to the nub (and I am sneezing a bit by the end).

Another great LFD stick! Really enjoyed the flavor profile from this cigar. The flavors were perfectly balanced IMHO. Will def be picking up a box of these in the near future. The only flaw for this cigar was the flakey ash, but I was smoking outside and really did not care today!

LFD cigars are hands down solid and my no.1 affordable cigar of choice. The Airbender is a change of pace for Litto so I was scepticle at first however after having one I new he hit another homer.
Ditto on your review brother and thanks!

Great review Jason! I really love this cigar...it has changed quite a bit since the pre-release.

Nice review Jason. I really like the 2 smaller sizes of this cigar. The 2 larger sizes seem to lose something.

Thank you for the review, sir. I have two resting in the ol' humidor right now (along with a couple other LFDs I picked up from jackschwartz.com). I'm hoping after work on Monday I'll get to experience the Airbender.

Picked up one today, to have while studying some organic chemistry:scratchhe. finished it and picked up 3 more.. a fantastic smoke. I was also outside when i had mine and the ash held together fine from beginning to end.

Okay, I smoked the Airbender.

jwyatt55, I couldn't agree more with your review.

The Airbender tasted exactly like cloves! Also, my ash was very, very flakey and flowered as well. I didn't think it was all that powerful, however -- more medium-bodied than anything; but it did have great flavors. Overall, a very good stick. I'd definitely recommend this cigar.

Great! Glad I am not the only one that picked up the clove taste.
