Roach-klip: Herrera Esteli Lonsdale by Drew Estate

Eric is in town for a visit this week. I met up with him and WB at Casa de Montecristo on Wednesday night. It just so happened that Willy Herrera, David Lafferty and Ben (jadawin) from Drew Estate showed up at Casa as well. I was handed a couple of the upcoming Herrera Esteli cigars (one corona, one lonsdale), and asked if it was okay for me to review one for BOTL. Willy said it was not a problem. I had smoked the corona that night, and thought it was fantastic! So I looked forward to smoking the lonsdale for review.

The lonsdale had a pepper blast in the first third, which I didn't get out of the corona. It could have been because of the other cigars I had that day...not sure.

Thanks again to Willy, David and Ben. I'm looking forward to when these cigars are released in a few months.

Got a chance to try the corona as well, it was a solid smoke. On to the Lonsdale!

Smoked the corona gorda from the trade show and a fat toro from the little puff. Not a huge big cigar fan but this was awesome. Really anticipating the release of these. And Wiilys a great guy to boot!! G1

Indeed. I thought the lonsdale was really good but the corona is money.

They will start hitting select retailers in January and start to show up in more shops in the months following. It won't be a limited release but may take a bit to get the full distribution going. It seems like that model has become the trend. I can think of many new releases in the last 6-8 months that have seemed to "trickle" in to the marketplace(Oliva Melanio, Mi Amor Reserva, La Palina, Cuenca y Blanco, to name a few).

Not sure if I should have started a new thread, but recently talked to JD and he mentioned that the distribution of the Herrera Esteli had been "scaled way back". He said they were looking to put in around 50 shops starting out. He mentioned a little about the cigar in this video he shot for us.

Nice review, I am looking forward to these. I was pretty bummed when I couldn't make it to an event last month where Willy was there rolling some of these, they look/sound awesome!
