  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Shark Week on BOTL continues! The second species to be profiled is known as the "Opus X Shark".

A beautiful Rosado color, the Opus X Shark is the oldest member of the Shark species. It was originally found on rare occasion dating back to 1999 with a rounded head. Evolution changed the shape of Shark's head by the time it was found in "Forbidden" areas in the wild as early as 2002. Ten of these Sharks were known to travel together at this time.

In 2005, the Opus X Shark was caught and delivered in pairs. They were shipped in coffin-like boxes to protect them, as they were a rare species. By 2009, the Opus X Shark population was no longer endangered, and could be found with more regularity in schools of thirty-six.

The Shark shown below happens to be from one of those schools discovered in 2009.

Prior to lighting, the beast has a creamy caramel like flavor, with a little bit of spice. The first third of this Shark was composed of light oak mixed with cinnamon and nuts. There was a slight creaminess and a little bit of pepper.

Midway through the examination, oak and cinnamon are still at the forefront. Light honey and white pepper round out the flavor. The Shark held strong up to this point, just like its Anejo brother.

Unfortunately, this shark did not survive the exam. But it did have a little strength left in it before it gave up. Oak and cinnamon still the primary flavors, while the honey sweetness and white pepper picked up in strength.

Not surprisingly, as this is the original Shark species, it too put up a long fight. It had enough energy to stay on the line for almost 2 hours and 10 minutes.

Looking forward to this one. Been meaning to locate them from some time. I am guessing that your review will move this up the priority list.

Mmmmm...would love to find one of these. I do like the Opus line so I'm sure I'd like this.
Thanks Jere , can't wait to see your view on it!
