  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

So, I know there are not a lot of Rocky fans on the board and I'm not really either, but this was the cigar that got me hooked on cigars about 6 years ago. My mother-in-law bought this for me for Christmas, and it actually caught me by surprise because she was the last person I thought would ever buy me a cigar. So, I figured it was a good opportunity to re-visit this cigar.

Appearance – A decent looking, fairly well constructed cigar with some noticeable veins.

Pre-light - A slight woodsy flavor with a hint of cocoa and a very nice draw. Couldn't find my cutter, so I punched it with a tee.

First 1/3 – Good amount of smoke and a solid burn. Flavors of cedar and cocoa with a little pepper.

Second 1/3 Still a lot of smoke with a good burn. Not much has changed flavor wise, although the bit of pepper has faded.

Third 1/3 - Same as above, but started to get a little harsh towards the end.

Is this a bad cigar? Not at all. A fairly one dimensional cigar, but still enjoyable. Not something I would have chosen to smoke if not for being a gift, but I'm glad I did. More of a nostalgic thing, remembering back to the first one I smoked about 6 years back on a balcony over-looking the ocean on the Central Coast. Thanks Lynda! (MIL)

I'd rate this as an 84-85.

Nice to read this. Not a fan of rocky either but used to smoke a ton of 90's years ago. Wouldn't touch one now but after reading your review I would maybe chance it

I actually had one on New Years. It wasn't too bad. I had a problem with the wrapper coming apart but the smoke was nice. My opinion is though that for the money I can get a better smoke.

Agree here, and wouldn't buy one myself, but if gifted, I've certainly had worse.
