  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

This 6.5×52 box pressed stick offered a silky smooth wrapper with perfect construction. Draw was loose, typical for a Rocky. Burn was excellent all the way down, also typical. Flavors changed in distinct sections, offering combinations of leather, spice, coffee, cocoa, oils, nuts and earthiness. Medium-full bodied overall, it intensified slightly as it went along. 1 1/2 hours to the band point where I stopped. These are available as factory seconds, called X-Out Liga C. More in the video! http://cigarobsession.com/2009/07/31/rocky-patel-oldemaduro-toro/

I always keep a couple of Rocky Patel Olde World Reserve Maduros in my humidor. They are the perfect after-dinner smoke.

I'll check out the video -- love the site. I visit it everyday.

Nice review! I love these sticks too. The x-outs are good, but not as good as the real thing, imho. They aren't like the Vintage 2nds that are exactly the same without bands.

nice review... I always liked the RP 90s & 92s. The Decades and the OWR Maddies are also present in my humi in single digits... I have even enjoyed several of the R4 maduros... everything else RP is just blah!!! With all the RPs out there, I cant beleive I cant find anymore of those R4 maddies.... just a crap load of the other ones.

I thought the same thing when I smoked some x-outs soon after receiving them. I have a couple bundles of them actually, still aging. I just had one last week at the bar, and after 6 mos. it was finally on-par. I suspect they are simply not aged as long at the factory.

I have tried all the other x-outs except D (Decade) and had the same experience. With a little extra time they all shined.

The 90/92/R4's are also some of my favs! I'm very low on the 92, but have a ton of 90's aging.

I used to be a big fan of the Naties. Haven't had one in awhile. There's a liquor store out here that had them for dirt cheap at the time. Maybe I'll revisit some. Good review.
