  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Size: 5 Inches
Ring Gauge: 50
Vitola: Perfecto

Used a Xikar Xi to give it a nice Strait Cut
Xikar Ex Toasted foot
Paired with Water

Prelight
light barnyard classic tobacco

First light

I'm getting a lot of dark earthy flavors, smoke is thick, lines your mouth with long notes of chocolatey coffee, with an exciting pepper kick on the retro, I love this combo so far: )
Flavors hang around for a while, fading to more of a sweet around 45 secs after puff, burn is great so far, zero complaints on the draw either.
Flavors changing, getting sweeter, the barnyard that I found on the pre light is emerging, giving a nice sweetness to the mix, Earthy flavors still there, pepper is still going great on the retro. Love the flavor combo so far.
Finding that the cigar is comparable to a signal flare with smoke output, reminds me of an undercrown in that way.
Continuing to cake the inside of my mouth with a wonderful sweet chocolate, light spice emerging. I could see dark roasted coffee doing this cigar justice.
Almost 2 inches into the stick and I just noticed a wonderful spiced rum flavor that followed the sweet earthiness, made me literally say "wow", disappeared as fast as it appeared though : (
Lovely sweet coffee notes continue with a rockin pepper on the retro.
Noticeably stronger in body that the first 1/3.
Smoke output and burn still great
Starting to notice a nice but light caramel appear with the earthiness, deeper than the spiced rum above, pepper toned itself down a tad, which works wonderfully with the rich earthy dark sweetness that is a commanding part of this stick.
I am also getting what I describe as a raisin dipped in caramel and toasted with coffee. Its outstanding.
The pepper on the retro, still present, but noticeably lighter, getting a nice warm wood flavor on the retro.
Flavors are holding strong, no complaints here, very enjoyable.
Getting a more pronounced sweet rasiny note, hanging in with the earthy flavors after puffs.
Coffee has toned down a bit, more deep woody notes that really balanced well with the sweetness and pepper.
Pepper has become more mild, Coffee notes are great, getting dark, fruit like notes are on there way out, tiny sweetness left. Will end it here soon : )

Overall
This cigar really surprised me. I had a lot of bias going into this, im a huge fan of the cromag line, and was expecting the wonderful earthy flavors, but holy cow the sweet raisiny caramel really hit it out of the park with this stick. Complex and full bodied. Construction and burn were flawless with this stick, Flavors were rocking all the way through, I would love to see how this cigar does with a little rest. Im not the type to give a score, but this one is really high up on my list. Roma Craft, thanks a bunch for making this a reg production stick, I will be coming back to this stick a lot.

Paring suggestions?
A dark roasted Coffee black, with a splash of spiced rum (or caramel for those that don't partake, i respect that)
A sweet red wine, i have a ruby porto that comes to mind :)
I honestly think a Root Beer would go well with this
A nice chocolate Stout too

Thanks for reading!

Great review Brandon. I agree, I went into smoking this cigar with high expectations and was surprised how good this stick was. We're letting the cat outta the bag on these bad boys. Now we'll never find them.... Lmao... great review buddy

Great review! I too am going to try one with a little more rest, I imagine they would be just right with maybe 6 months imo. Probably should put one in the very bottom of a box in a cooler so I won't find it lol.

Solid review. Roma craft doesn't disappoint. The mode 5 size to me seems to be the cats meow no matter the blend. Love it!!!
