  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I got one from two above - thanks Dan -

I love it!
Works great, looks good and is dependable.
And if you need to replace it, you can fairly cheaply.

Glad you like 'em Neil. These are the exact reasons this is the only lighter I have. For the amount I can buy the cheaper Xikar lighters for I could buy about 8 of these. And they last. A friend of mine had one for 6 years before he finally bought a new one and he carried that thing in his pocket a lot which really beats up a lighter. As long as you use quality butane (though I've never had one give me any trouble straight out the package and I would assume they have Ronson butane in them :dunno:) and purge when you refill (which you should do with any lighter) you should have many years of trouble free lighter use. If one does break or not function properly, just buy a new one...though if you're like me I have a handful in my accessories box anyway. Plus if you're at a B&M or HERF and someone forgets a lighter you can just give 'em one. The only caveat would be if you have large hands then the lighter could be a little hard to operate.

Need to find me one of these. I was using my triple jet lighter I lave and it eats fuel so fast. I drained it and then filled it to my eyeballs and it was empty after 5-6 cigars.

My buddy has a xikar executive single torch lighter, it has its issues. After igniting it goes out often usually after a few seconds.

I have the same issues with my low cost lighters. After 4-5 seconds they just shutoff.

If anyone needs one, or more, send me pm....I'm pretty sure I can find them around here. My brother got me one from our local Walmart.

yes, Xikar will "fix" it by sending him a brand new one. They won't even bother looking at it.

I had a Xikar double torch and one of the torches came unscrewed. It was to tight in there for me to tighten it so I sent it in. They told me it would be three weeks before I'd get it back. 7 days later a new one showed up in my mailbox.

I couldn't find any in my area either. Must be a regional thing. Thankfully, jjon was kind enough to hook me up with two

Yep, I hunted through every local Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Walgreens, CVS, etc. Came up with nothing. Nada. Zip.
