I know the salomones are throwing a lot of confusion into the equation (thanks scott :smt019 ). I'm going to throw some numbers in hopes of painting a clearer picture. because I know this wont the the one and only time we'll get box(es) of cigars that do not come in a 25 count.
each box of cuaba salomones contains 10 cigars. we have to buy two to at least cover one cigar per share, giving us a total of 20 cigars. with me so far? after we alocate ONE salomon to each share we will have 8 floaters (20 salomones - 12 shares = 8). those 8 will be available for members to buy at their expense for $14.50/each.
so this is where some might get confused. the total for both boxes will be $290 ($145 x 2) but the group will only be paying for 12. which is $174 (12 x $14.50). that figure will be subtracted from $290 giving us $116 ($14.50 x 8) which will come out of the pockets of the members wishing to pick them up AT NO extra expense to the rest of the group what so ever.
this is what the group will be paying for this month:
punch punch $185
12 cuaba salomones $174
punch royal selection $112
partagas lusitanias $240something
total of around $712, which will give us around $138 to throw into the pot for the special purchase in two months. the pot does not roll over into the following month it only applies to the special purchase at the end of the 3 or 4 month cycle sort of like a quarterly bonus. now if you drop out prior to that kicking in you can cash out, or make an adjustment if someone is going to take your spot.
last month nothing was contributed because the partagas 898v were priced at a special price, but they were back to regular price when the order was made. that came out of my pocket, so don't worry about that. in the future we will price all cigars at their regular price and if we get lucky and order them during a special the money saved will be thrown into the pot, does that sound fair to the rest of the group?
