  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Okay people...I must first apologize for this quick review without pics but after smoking this cigar I felt the erge to say a few things about how this cigar surprised me.

San Lotano Maduro Churchill "7 x 52

(Copied photo)

San Lotano Habano comes from AJ's factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. Featuring a San Andres maduro wrapper.

I bought this cigar at a local B&M a few days ago so I was to curious to wait any longer on its rest at the homestead. To be honest I really haven't smoked anything by A.J. in a very long time and I wasn't expecting this cigar to be anything special.
Although the look and feel of this cigar is nice I don't really get alot of spicy scent or anything that stands out while smelling the wrapper. Just plain ol tobacco.
On the first draw I was expexting some pepper but instead was hit with alot of cream and earth. A little harsh on the throat but it settled after the usual half inch. I was surprised that for a Maduro wrapper it seemed to only hit more in the medium profile of strength. With the creamyness I also picked up on strong tobacco and dark chocolate nuances throughout the smoking experince of this cigar.
Although it didn't have any mindblowing changes in it's blend the constant flavor seemed to be just right for me to complete the whole cigar enjoyably.
So, I must admit I was very surprised by how much I liked this smoke. I can see myself getting some more of these and add them into my rotation. Another nice thing about these is the price. It's nice to find a cigar that hits the spot and doesn't break the bank.
Again sorry for thr shotty review and no pics but...I would love to here your take on this cigar if you've had it.

the oval is understandably going to overshadow these, but the regular san lotano lines are just nice. HIGHLY recommend both the habano and connecticut (which, last time i had i pulled as a yard gar, but stopped what i was doing to pay attention to!)

I love the habano toro size. Great for me when I am traveling. A complex enough smoke for me to enjoy but at a price point im not pissed off if I have to put the thing out and take off. My only beef with these guys is at ICPCR they fired all of their reps at the show. It cost them a ton of business as I know of one store that cancelled a 100 box order. So it is hard for me to smoke one now when a Personal friend was one of those reps. But its a great yard gar imho.

Is this brand owned by AJ or by CI? I haven't had any yet but just got one in a birthday bomb, so looking forward to it!

Thanks for the review.

I've only smoked the Oval and the regular habano. Loved them both. The habano has a really nice spice through it. I'll have to pick up the maduro now.

These didn't impress me at all. They weren't bad, I guess I expected more given how much I enjoy the MOW and Diesel lines. I need to try the oval though, that one sounds like a great stick.

Give them some time. The maduro didn't do much for me when I first tried them, but after some time ignoring them, they're really tasty. Pick some up, let them sit a few months, then try again.

Oval, on the other hand, was an immediate hit with me! :togetherl

I loved the one I had in TX. I think it was the Maduro as shown in the OP. It had nice spice, great flavor, and smooth smoke all the way through.

The Maddies were pretty good fresh, but I kept one around for 7 months at home in the humi, and it became a creamy/maduro lovers dream. This reviewed cigar was the same size that we smoked down in Nica in January. We smoked a wheel's worth of them out of the aging room one night. I kept one and brought it home for further inspection, and was pleasantly surprised.
I am dieing to get my hands on an oval as they are "what all the cool kids are doing these days" heh

Yeah, that's what I was saying. All cigars change a bit after of resting, but these really seemed to go from "smokeable" to "loveable"!
