  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I have to be honest, I first read about this Estelo Padron offering in Cigar Aficionado where it received a 90 point rating. A highly rated Honduran puro for under 4 bucks? This I had to to try, so I ordered a box and here we go!

Size-5 1/4 x 44
Wrapper-Col. Maduro
Origin-Honduras
Strength-Full Body
Smoke Time-1 hour 15 minutes

Very nice wrapper and construction, sweet smelling wrapper with hints of tobacco and farm animal. Draw is good, with slight resistance. Immediately I get sweet vanilla and earthy coffee. Medium body smoke for sure, nice smoke output with a short finish.

Was the Sancho Panza worthy of a 90 point rating? In my opinion no, but it was a very solid smoke nonetheless. For the money, you would be hard pressed to find a better value. I really enjoyed this stick, and if you're looking for another bargain priced Maduro to add to your collection, you might want to give this a try!

Yeah I'd never buy a box off CA's ratings, but thanks for the review . Might pick some up if the opportunity presents itself...where'd you get 'em from?

I actually got them as an after thought from cheaphumidors.com when I was ordering cedar trays and hygrometers before building my coolidor. I just smoked another one last night with some friends, and everyone agreed that it was a great little smoke for 3 bucks!

i had one probably a year and a half ago and it was too harsh
for my tastes. I do think that the double Maduro in that same
line is a great value smoke though! (Especially w/ some age on them!)

Glad you were able to get some enjoyment from them, and word of
advice, before you go buying a box (unless its a tat/viaje LE, maybe
try grabbing one or two from your local b&m first.... ) I remember buying
boxes and bundles from CI when i first started out, only to be seriously
dissapointed because I had no clue (what crap) i was buying!:stretchgr

P.s. Thanks for sharing brotha

I tried the Madrid just now...

Not too bad at all. Nothing fancy, just a plain Honduran cigar. No fancy band, mediocre looks... Good yard gar.
90 rating.... no, but deffinately worth a few bucks.

Good advice, the box was only $50.00 so I set what the heck. I do only buy boxes of things I have already tried even though it's dificult to try singles living in Japan with my B & M only selling Cubans :eyebrow:
