  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

In each box of Dos Campeones will be two different blends. The 'Sixto' and 'Coraje.' Steven Ysidron, CEO of Savinelli, worked on the blends for the Dos Campeones. When he could not decide which blend to move forward with, he decided to use both.

Prelight draw is that of hay and a hint of spice. Firmly packed little cigar. Draw seems a bit tight, but that usually works well for a cigar this size. Construction is good with a few larger noticeable veins to it.

First third I am picking up a bit of hay, trace of pepper as well as an oak taste to it, with a cedar burn to the retrohale. Draw is good so far and producing a nice amount of smoke. Also picking up a bit of a musty flavor that reminds me of the AVO Heritage a little. Medium body/medium strength so far.

As I get it the second third the flavors almost seem a little muddled so I slowed down to a puff every two or three minutes, just barely enough to keep it lit. It gradually settled down a bit and the hay and cedar seemed a little more defined. Still that bit of mustiness to the retrohale and burn draw has been solid.

Final third smoked well and built in strength a bit. Picked up a little more pepper and had a long finish to it. Was a little apprehensive on this cigar considering it was coming from a pipe company(think Nording), but was pleasantly surprised. Good strength and good flavor to it and some down time would do it some good.

Thanks for the candid review. Hope to see these on a shelf at a local B & M soon.
