  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Helping mom and dad pack their stuff since they're moving in a couple of weeks and found this in the garage. Dad doesn't smoke anymore so I decided to help myself to it.:glassesgr
It's 180mm accross and 30mm in height and weighs about half a kilo, so it's pretty solid.

That's a big upgrade since my old ashtray wasn't big enough for anything, especially not that Tat Churchill!

2X That, it's the little things! Nice find Has. How did you manage with that
iddy, biddy cigarette tray?
I love the ashtray! I remember dad sitting in his office with this ashtray on the desk and a big cigar sitting in it smouldering away!

Very cool, now your Dad can be with you whenever you have a smoke. I think I might need to go checkout my Dad's basement and see if I can find one of his old ashtrays.

Best regards, tony

My dad's my hero. Trully an incredible man. His life story amazes me everytime I hear snippets of it and anyone else who hears it.
Thank God, he's still with us. Built like a frickin' tank, survived 3 heart attacks and a quad heart bypass. Is there anything dads can't do?
I always think of him when I light a cigar. Here's to you, Dad! :cbig:

Nice! I like the look of those older ashtrays compared to the modern ones.

I grew up in a household in which no one smoked. but back in the 50's and 60's it was expected that all households had ashtrays for guests who might want to smoke. So we had them, and I learned from a young age what ashtrays are for: they're to store stray cufflinks, loose buttons, paper clips, etc....and to be emptied when company comes! lol

My parents were holdovers from this generation as well... we had some cool ashtrays that no one ever used for cigarettes. My favorite which i took with me is a small glass hand shaped ashtray. it's only good for one cigarette's worth of ashes if even that...but it looks darn cool!

to the OP - great score, and great to have that ashtray to remind you of your family while you enjoy a cigar... it's nice when our accessories can add an extra dimension to our relaxing hobby.

Very sweet and very awesome to always be able to have your dad present in some way when you enjoy a stick.
