well this is my first review, so take it easy on me
Diesel Shorty
Specs: 4.5x60
smoke time: just over an hour
Dry, dark wrapper, feels very thick.
Pre light draw of wood notes, and tobacco.
This cigar took a while to toast, and noticed that the first initial draws were quite harsh, and slightly acidic. I let the cigar sit for a few minutes, and noted that the harsh flavors began to subside.
about a 1/2 in and the cigar really began to show on its own. Deep oak flavor and tobacco reign supreme, but sat at a medium body. the flavors were rich, but did not linger on the palette. Large amount of smoke accompany this cigar, adding to my enjoyment. I paired this smoke with Schweppe's Ginger Ale Soda, and it was surprisingly good, it really let the cigar stand on its own without overpowering my taste buds.
the ash held tight to the very end, but I fear that my cold trembling hands made me lose the ash soon after the lower picture. As I started into the final 1/3 on top of the above flavors I had small blasts of pepper on the tongue.
All in all, It was a decent smoke for the garage being 10 degrees. Although I will not go out of my way to buy them, but be sure that if I see them at a good discount, that I would be happy to pick them up for the humidor. If anyone else has tried these, chime in!
Thanks.
