  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Continuing my Skinny Monsters reviews..

Beautiful construction (I've yet to find a poorly constructed Tatuaje).

Pulling off the cello and there is a strong and delightful smell of cocoa and hay. Like the old sun tan oil we had as kids on the beaches in SoCal. Memories.

Cold draw is nice and spice with some leathery sweetness.

First third is bringing a lot of chocolate goodness and some pepper. I can't completely pick up the flavor of hazelnut, but the smell of hazelnut and cocoa is evident and so appealing to me in this cigar.

My first draw tasted familiar. I've enjoyed this profile of flavors before (and not just from a pudgy Chuck). Not placing it right now. Maybe you know?

Playing around with the time intervals between draws really affects the flavors. Letting Chuck cool a bit (longer intervals) produces chocolate and toasted marshmallow or sugar cookie like flavors for me. Pepper is still there too.

Short intervals and the flavors are harsher (obviously), bitter chocolate and more spice. There's an art to smoking a cigar. One I'm still learning a few years into this, but I would say the motto for smoking Skinny Monsters ought to be: slow down.

Second third picks up a little more pepper and more of the cocoa. The smell is amazing. Strong cocoa smell, taking me back to Zuma beach in the 80s.

There's an earthy, leather taste too. Still a sweet finish. I'm impressed with this blend too. I remember enjoying the Pudgy Chuck but this vitola is even better. So far, I'm digging the petit lanceros. I really look forward trying all of these Skinny Monsters in cazadores size. Dang it! I'm only two sticks into this sampler and planning on buying another. Haha

Final third is mellowing in all the flavors a bit. Pepper is fading, ye there. Sweetness is still present on the finish, but mild. Cocoa nuttiness is coming through slightly. Smoke output is still high. There's no harshness in the flavors, but the flavors are finished. I thought about leaving it but the aroma and flavors, though subtle now, are still tasty to me.

This was my second of the 10 Skinny Monsters I've tried. Loving these! Thanks for reading.
