Hi guys, and thanks for all the gracious welcomes.

Is that a cane fly rod?

Oh, and welcome from another angler.
yes, it's a Heddon #14 1-3/4 ferrule - it's a 4-wt. trout rod.

I usually fish the TX hill country for endemic spotted bass, but in the winter the best fishing is for rainbows in the Guadalupe tailrace (and I'm 20 minutes away).

about that goldfish thing

I got a fish picture for every occasion

:welcome: That fly fishing on the Guadalupe's gotta be better than in the Concho!
I've fished the Pedernales headwaters just below Harper, and its a blast - in fact I fished both there and the Guadalupe headwaters in Hunt together on the same day.

I love fishing water that small, and I'm sure I would like fishing the Concho. I've had a recommendation to fish Commanche Creek near the town of the same name - can't be too far from you - maybe we should have a wet wading herf.

Welcome to BOTL! I do a ton of fishing, but not a lot of fly fishing. My great grandpa gave me a really nice split bamboo rod.
