A guy walks into the bar with a monkey on his shoulder. The bartender tells him that monkeys aren't allowed in the bar. The man promises that the monkey is well behaved, and won't be a problem. The bartender agrees, only if the monkey causes no fuss. After a while, the monkey climbs onto a pool table, and promptly swallows the cue ball. The bartender, obviously upset, throws them out, telling the man not to bring the monkey back. A few weeks later, the man returns with the same monkey on his shoulder. The bartender objects, but after the man promises that the monkey has learned his lesson,will remain on a leash, and he pays for the missing cue ball, they are allowed to come into the bar. The monkey is sitting on the bar for a while, and starts eating peanuts out of a bowl. The bartender notices that every time the monkey picks up a peanut, he puts it down by his butt, looks at it, and then eats it. He asks the man what the monkey is up to. The man replies, " Like I said, the monkey learned his lesson with the cue ball, now he sizes everything up before he swallows it".
