  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

So here's the line...

So I just called my guy, and he says he's layin out

Patriots are given 12.5
and the over under line is at 53.5

What would you guys do?

I'm pretty sure of a Patriot win, but not sure they will cover.
I also don't know that the scores will be that high. But....
Vegas is predicting 55 points and Pats giving 14.

Obviously I'm not going to Vegas, so I'll be wagering with my guy. So just given the what Vegas says vs. what my guy says, what do I do?

The Gmen have been really good post season. The Patriots haven't been as dominating. You decide...

A successful gambler bets with his head not his heart. These guys telling you to bet on NYG are just pissed because their teams didn't make it to the post season (maybe at the hands of the Pats).

What we did find, folks, is the greatest statistical mismatch in NFL championship game history. Not Super Bowl history, folks. All of NFL history.

Super Bowl XLII is literally the NFL's Mismatch of the Century ... and the league is only 88 years old.
Cold Hard Football Facts

Nope. The one common thread shared by a whopping 75.4 percent of all Super Bowl teams comes courtesy of our friends in Las Vegas -- they were favored to win the game.
Yes, Super Bowl favorites are 31-10 (should we say XXXI-X?) all time, a remarkable stat considering a neutral field and theoretical equality between the two conferences.

Patriots.

Over.

Granted, I think they will win, but by 13 points?

I think so...I laid my $50 on Pats given 12.5 and total score over 53.5

We'll see i stand to win $130. It's acctually a group bet, because none of us are real gambling types. Between this and the Squares we sold here, I'll have something to keep my wife interested in the game.

This sure didn't look like a mismatch back on Dec 29. Sunday's meeting might be just as close.

Also, paper statistics make for interesting water cooler discussions, but they don't matter much on gameday.

No argument. But if I were betting big money I'd pick stats over hope every time.

Hopefully you didn't lose your house. :jitb:
I don't bet exactly because shit like this can happen against all odds. We were all stunned at casa de Clint. But NYG played a great game and completely deserves the win.

Nonetheless, I still hate all Mannings.

Yep, this is why i don't normally bet on this stuff. You just never know when an upset will take your money. OH well I only had $10 in it.
