  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

1st please only vote if you have some interest in attending (depending on the date and your availability of course). You will not be commited. I just want to know if there is enough interest.

If there is enough interest I will set it up for late June 2010

Prices are approximate and include prizes and happy hour type food

About each course

Los Verdes is located in Rancho Palos Verdes. The course has some beautiful ocean views. The course is the least expensive of the three but is very, very slow playing. You can expect to wait on every hole. Course conditions: 4 out of 10. Course difficulty: 4 out of 10

Malibu is located in the hills of Malibu. There is no ocean view but it sits down in a beautiful canyon. The pace of play is usually excellent. Course conditions: 6 out of 10. Course difficulty: 6 out of 10. You can play a second round of golf here for an additional $25.00 if you choose the Saturday.

Angeles National is located in Sunland, CA. This course is in the best shape of the three but is more difficult. If we play this course you might want to bring some extra balls. Course conditions: 8 out of 10. Course difficulty: 8.5 out of 10.

Type of Tourney
In an effort to keep things fair, I think a two man best ball format might work excellent. Higher handicap golfers will be paired with lower handicap golfers. Each player will hit their ball and the team will have the choice of which ball to play on each shot. Each player must use at least three of their drives on the front and three of your drives on the back. We will have a longest drive and a couple of closest to the pins.

Do you like a two man best ball or do you have a better suggestion?

Oh my personal recommendation is Malibu Wednesday Twilight. I think it is the best value. It is a great course. I am just not sure everyone can do a Wednesday with work and traffic.

Well . . . I haven't golfed enough to establish a handicap - I know it won't matter in this tourney, just prepping you to pair me with the best golfer - and I have yet to play a "real" 18 hole course. Of course, I did beat Danny once, or was that in my dreams? egad, beating Danny in my dreams, what kind of a sicko am I? Don't answer that!

ANYway, I'd be up for it. Easier course and closer to (my) home would help me participate. It sounds like fun.

Sound like fun. I'm not sure which course though, those are all a bit out of my location.
91 takes you to Los Verdes

210 takes you to Angeles National

Both are about the same distance but neither should take you more than 1 1/2 hours

Malibu is the furthest for you. It would be two hours

My Mom used to live in Corona and I used to enter the Norco Rodeo each year.

Who has the ability to get us into Riviera or Sherwood? :ccool:

That is a good little 9 hole executive course, nestled back in the canyons right across the street from the beach herf.
