  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I purchased some wide mouth mason jars for storing my baccy. I have some aromatic baccy and was wondering what is the best way to dry it out some. Should I do the whole tin? Or dry out only what I'm gonna smoke? What is the preferred method used to dry out baccy? Just recently decided to come over to the pipe side and so far it has been enjoyable.

I just leave my tins out and they are what they are. But if you're particular with the humidity level of your tobacco, get it where you want it then stick it in a mason jar. It'll stay darn near perfect for you that way. To dry them out a little bit, I usually just leave the tin open for a couple hours when I'm sitting downstairs before bed. Repeat the next time if needed and so on.

I usually take out what I'm going to smoke and let it sit for a an hour or so. Some tobacco's I have on your need 15 minutes till it's where I like it.

Definitely keep mason jars on hand and I'd recommend putting them through the dishwasher or hand wash them before you put any baccy inside. They're the best for the storage needs for sure. I just open the tin, jar or baggie, whatever I put the baccy in and kind of just "light up" with no dry time. It's a little hit and miss but works for me most of the time. You'll pick up your preference on things as time goes on...we're always here to try and help!!
