First Third: This cigar is in the round and cut cleanly with my Xikar. It burned and drawed perfect from the get go. Right away I taste flavors of earth and spice. But it's kind of a sweet spice? Obviously has a few years on it as the flavors are well rounded. It pairs great with the Rum and Coke I'm drinking.

Second Third: The earthyness has mellowed out a bit and I taste some vanilla extract like flavors starting to build that pairs well with that sweet spice. Just finished my Rum and Coke and have switched up to a Mojito as I think it may pair up even better than the Rum and Coke does.

Last Third: Still pretty much the same earthy, some cream and that sweet spice in the background, but at the last inch or so I noticed that the flavors and strenght did pick up a bit. This cigar pairs well with my Mojito as well.

Blind Review No. 2

Ok, I didn’t lose my notes this time!! I had this cigar with some Diplomaticos rum. If you haven’t tried it yet, you really should, especially if you like rums that are on the sweet side. But I digress. This was a corona sized cigar that looked a bit veiny. The wrapper was a medium brown color with a bit of an olive tinge to it. The cap was well done and flat, and the wrapper had a slight tear on the edge of an overlapping section, no big deal. It had a smooth feel and was slightly spongy when I squeezed it.
I took out my trusty Swiss Army Knife and clipped the cap. The draw was open but not loose. As I smelled the cigar before lighting it I noticed it had a wonderful aroma that I have come to know from a particular brand of cigar. It made me eager to smoke it so I torched the foot and away we go!
Initially and during the first third, the cigar was very earthy, a little spicy and hinted at smoked meat. I got a great body of smoke from the cigar and the aroma was killer!! I kept wafting the smoke towards my nose it smelled so good. The burn was pretty good, I didn’t need to correct this cigar at all.
During the second third the cigar rounded out nicely, getting a little creamier and not as spicy. Still present was that earthy, meaty goodness. Just over the halfway point the wrapper split just a little bit, but it didn’t affect anything with the cigar at all and quickly went away.
The flavors intensified during the last third of the cigar. It started to get a little bitter but that went away after I purged. The earthiness of the cigar started to become even more pronounced. I don’t usually nub a cigar but this one I did. I thoroughly enjoyed this cigar. Thank you to the review member that shared it with us! Unless I am greatly mistaken this was a Bolivar Coronas Extra maybe from 2006

Guess as to what the cigar was that you smoked?
I have no idea not sure it was Cuban. I smoked it past the band and it was painful, had it mot been a test cigar I would have tossed it in the first third.

Total score--44. If Cuban it came from the dreaded 99-00 years.

HDM Corona? maybe 03?

This cigar had to me a classic Hdm profile to it right off the bat. Great looking construction from head to foot. While it was enjoyable I just wanted it to have a longer finish because I was enjoying it very much. Great burn, Draw and very enjoyable ambient smoke to it as well. Would smoke these often in the morning as well if I could.

Right on Kevin!

I could have sworn all that wood I smoked was a Hoyo...but after seeing what it was I just smacked my forehead! Cool that across the board (well, discount Rob's score LOL) it ranked an 88-89 that's pretty consistent.
