  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Erinmore Flake, while topped, I wouldn't consider an aro and is nicely sweet. Untopped would have to go to Hamborger Veermaster of which I only had my first bowl yesterday. It's now on my shopping list.

I guess I should ask are you looking for sweeter blends that are non cased/ non aromatics?
Not sure. If I understand what I've read, casing is early in the process, and topping is toward/at the end. I'm assuming (yea, I know how that usually turns out) that aromatics are topped or infused somehow at the end, but could be totally wrong. In my limited experience, most aromatics smell good, but don't have the same taste, may be too wet to smoke well, and some chemical taste and bite are pretty typical. Now I'm the first to admit I'm green as a gourd and know next to nothing. Certainly willing to listen to those with more time and experience.

Let me add, I like tobacco. Sometimes too many things seem to completely do away with the tobacco taste and smell. I remember, as a child, when we would go to Winston-Salem, we would crack the windows going by RJReynolds to catch some of the tobacco smell. It's not that I don't like a lot of flavor. I certainly do. Once again, with limited exposure, some of my favorites have been Virginias and Burleys in which the tobacco is the star of the show.

You are so right @K Williams. My apologies to @Whtwtrman79. Thank you for correcting this. Plum Cake is from MacBaren's and the Plum Pudding is from the SPC.
Absolutely no worries, though they are distinctly different and I think somebody would be disappointed with plum pudding which is excellent, if they expected plum cake
