  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Ok so first off I suck at reviews. My nasal passages and my taste buds have a disconnect somewhere. I can't pick out flavors like I should. But I've been getting a few "how was it?" questions on IG when I post up pics so I thought I would try to review.

First up is the Crowned Heads Angels Anvil TAA 2014

It is a 7 1/4 X 49 Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and fillers.

The box was delivered on Monday. I couldn't wait so I grabbed one before storing in the wineador.

The first inch of this thing was bleh. I hated it. Which was disappointing. But I continued with it. After the first inch it improved but still just wasn't worth the box purchase. Then things changed. That second half and on into the final third all the way to the nub was phenomenal. It freaking ROCKED. I'm hoping a little down time in the humi does the first half some good. But that second half made it all worth while.

Box worthy? Hell yea. Freaking pallet worthy.

Please chime in here. Agree, disagree, add some TAA reviews to the thread.

Next in the TAA 2014 was the My Father.

This is a 6 X 50 box press.

This thing started harsh and finished harsh. The middle was decent. I can't describe the flavors. Just know the after the finish I had a mediciney after taste in my mouth. I haven't had alot of the My Father line so if someone who has can chime in and let me know if age does these some good I would appreciate it.

Box worthy? No
5er worthy? Maybe
Single worthy? Sure. I will try this again after it sits awhile.

My latest TAA 2014 was the CyB.

A 7 X 38 lancero, i usually don't go for Lanceros even tho one of my all time fav cigars is the OR El Truinfador.

I use a V cutter on lances. This thing felt soft to the touch. But even tho I crossed cut with a V cutter it had a tight draw. Never experienced that with a cigar this loose feeling.

This thing was enjoyable from light to finish. I just hated how soft it flew in my fingers. Hard to hold with 38 rg and being so soft.

Box worthy? Na
5er worthy? Yea
Single worthy? Definitely

Thanx guys.

I'm a little slow on the 2014 TAAs, so what else is out there currently worth trying?

I revisited the Angels Anvil again today. I totally stumped. Total different cigar today. Didn't get the freaking rocking finish I was expecting. I'm going to leave these rest.

I definitely will. I very rarely pass judgement on a cigar until I've had at least 2. I did buy a box. I know these are better than what I experienced.

Since you smoked one ROTT could the next cigar have acclimated to your humidor by enough to change the flavors? That has happened to me a few times. Maybe dry-boxing for the next round?

Got an Angel's Anvil today from Itchy, purchased at a local B&M here in Tampa. I'll let everyone know how it this one turns out when I smoke it later today.
