  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Grrrrr609 (Dave? sorry, I'm the new guy), you had it pretty spot on with the first Angel's Anvil review compared to what I just experienced. I'm going to throw my own notes in this thread if that's okay. Just PM if I'm stepping on any toes... I'm a newbie to forums and reviewing so I really don't know the protocols with either. Itchy bought the stick I just smoked from the middle of the box at a B&M in ybor city, so I doubt it had been there for less than a week, but definitely not ROTT. Pretty much all woody/cedar taste for the entire first quarter of the stick. Tight ash and razor burn, but all I got was cedar. Florals and a strong pepper start coming in right around two-three inches and the cedars fades into a nice nutty flavor. The nutty/pepper flavors and quantity of smoke exploded right in the middle for me and lasted through the remainder of the cigar but definitely smoothed out, along with some sweet notes in the back that I can't really place... like a red wine kind of flavor... although that might be the mound of leftover spaghetti I just dominated about an hour before lighting up. I had this smoke with an Irish red lager I just finished brewing, which also has some toasted and dark fruit flavors, so I'm sure that also contributed quite a bit. Overall construction was superb and smoke was plentiful. Also, I read a few different reviews that picked up coconut and nutmeg, but I never got that at any point. Full smoke took me about a 75 minutes. Good stick, thanks for reviewing first and recommending. Glad I found it and will smoke more, but will probably only buy a whole box because I'm a sucker for exclusivity and I'm definitely curious to see how they age.

Ok so first off I suck at reviews. My nasal passages and my taste buds have a disconnect somewhere. I can't pick out flavors like I should. But I've been getting a few "how was it?" questions on IG when I post up pics so I thought I would try to review.

First up is the Crowned Heads Angels Anvil TAA 2014

It is a 7 1/4 X 49 Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and fillers.

The box was delivered on Monday. I couldn't wait so I grabbed one before storing in the wineador.

The first inch of this thing was bleh. I hated it. Which was disappointing. But I continued with it. After the first inch it improved but still just wasn't worth the box purchase. Then things changed. That second half and on into the final third all the way to the nub was phenomenal. It freaking ROCKED. I'm hoping a little down time in the humi does the first half some good. But that second half made it all worth while.

Box worthy? Hell yea. Freaking pallet worthy.

Please chime in here. Agree, disagree, add some TAA reviews to the thread.
I kinda had the same feeling...I bought a box and a five pack...the first few I smoked were really good, but I grabbed one last weekend after a few months of rest and it was awesome!!!
