Tamper???

OK, some of you might've seen I found a really nice pipe and tobacco rack at a yard sale yesterday. Also included, was what I think is a tamper?? Some of you said it could be something else, possibly of worth, which I don't remember what it was called. I've attached some pictures to show you what I got.....

Yes seal for wax to seal letters and documents in the 18th 19th century... You may want to take it to an antique shop and find out what it could be worth....

Thanks for the input!! I'll check it out and see what a local shop says about it. Here I am thinking it was a tamper or part of a drawer that didn't belong!!! I'll keep you guys posted on how I make out with it.

Yup, looks like a monogrammed wax seal stamp, really nice one too. I don't see why it couldn't be used as a tamper!

We have one that I did our wedding invites with, now you may have just led me to a new use for it!
