  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Just got email from Burke's. Eddie Tarazona will be there at 2PM. Coincidentally, I had my first Tarazona yesterday and it was fantastic. Late notice, but I'm looking forward to this. Must have been surprise to Shami, too since he didn't mention it yesterday while we were discussing Tarazona cigars...lol

Have not seen the Revolution. Sounds like it is a blend I'd request. I haven't had a Tarazona in months, but only because I haven't been to Burke in a while. Here's some of my notes after tasting each a while back:

Tarazona Classic - nice, smooth, mild/med blend....but has a sweetened tip - these should carry a warning -- I won't try another unless I cut the entire torp taper off because I don't need that

Tarazona XTC - Great burn, nice blend - good enough cigar -- however, not quite enough going on for me

Tarazona 305 Torp -Fantastic flavors. If I had to compare to anything, I'd say it sorta resembled Illusione. Lotta smooth sweetness coming from the wrapper. Pretty decent price point, too.

By the way, I went to the event mentioned in OP and found Eddie to be a really great guy. I went to one or two other events later just to talk with him some more. Great story, great passion, engaging personality. I'm rooting for him and need to get my hands on some more of those 305's.

Not Tarazona branded, but sort of a 'subordinate line'.....I tried the Cubanacans in a couple different wrappers - I think Habano and CT. Had trouble finishing them. I don't recall the background, but seems to be a budget line attempt that missed....at least for me.

Smoked the R305, very nice (and different, which is good). It had a hard-to-describe 'tang" that I liked. It shared similar flavor attributes of Tat Lil Drac and LP9 (1st Half = Tat, 2nd Half = LP9). Burn was perfect. Smoke output was crazy.

Finally tried the Revolution 305 last night. Lancero-ish size. WOW! This is one great cigar. Had it at the end of a night of herfing, but even with what should have been burned out taste buds, I was VERY impressed. Rich, slightly sweet, full bodied.

Dave - cigarpride.com has a 25% coupon on the R305's. I just picked up a box of the robustos.
