  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

After reading all the post on Tats and how they are a great cigar, I am in the market to purchase one. What does every recommend for someone that has never smoked one? I currently prefer mild and mediums. I understand some Tats are stronger, but I figure I gotta learn somewhere.
I appreciate your help.

I'd say hit the Easties but those are no longer in production so.. I'd say start with the Havana VI series (Red Label) I liked everything I've smoked from Tatuaje (including the P series) other than the Artistas which is quite a surprise cause I'm a big fan of primanides. I'd say go with the Corona Gorda if you're in a toss about which stick to pick its a generous size and will give you a good idea of what the blend is like.

I've smoked just a handful I'm sure more knowledgable brothers will chime in soon.

If I was you, I would go to the New Havana Cigar website and pick up the Tatuaje Robsuto Sampler pack. Great way to try the entire line of Tatuaje and Cabiguan at a good price. $41.00. Best way for you to find out your favorite blend.

Here is the link!

And there are many retailers, both B&M and online, that have a great selection of the lines.

I really enjoy the Verocu #9 from Holts....... I think its a great medium strength cigar (others might differ on its strength). It runs $130 for a box.

I 2nd the recommendation of the Cabaiguan Connecticut, really nice cigars in the medium range. The Series P is also medium bodied, though of lower quality than other Tats (still nice sticks, though). Some people call the Havana VI line medium as well, but to me they're medium/full--about the same as a Padilla 1932 (which I also highly recommend).

Try an Angeles (red label), both because it's great and because the petite corona size is not likely to make you feel weird even if it ends up being stronger than you prefer.

I just had my first Tat last week so I am no expert on them. On the recommendation of most of the same BOTL that have posted here. The Angeles was what I grabbed first and it was very nice. I got mine for NHC and I am getting ready to buy some more tonight. I have some of the Reds and a few of the P series and I am buying the Tatuaje HUNTER Sampler to try the Brown label. I will leave you with a quote one of the brothers left me.

smoking Tatuajes will change you life bro. Repeat after me, "Hi my Name is ______ I an a Tatuaje Addict" from Drac

My first was a red label gifted by funkejj. I enjoyed it immensely and ordered a box of artistas last week. I'm looking forward to trying the other blends as soon as I make it to the one B&M in my area that sells them.
