I really wanted to let these cigars rest but I just couldn't stand it any longer. I decieded I needed to give it a go and see what all the fuss is about.
As I took it out of the cello the first thing I noticed was how the wrapper looked which was perfect. Everything about this cigar felt right. the length, the weight, the feel...just pefect. I love that size and the conical tip rested very comfortable in the mouth. So after wetting a little I decieded this was the cigar to get the honor of being cut, with my new Xikar Xi3

After searing the foot and then onto lighting, I couldn't wait to take the first darw...perfect!
The first thing to hit the pallet was white pepper and then leather. It wasn't harsh but strong on flavor. I new right away this was going to be a Medium smoke. Again the feel it had in the fingers was perfect and I really enjoyed the taste of the leaf on my tongue. Getting into the first half inch to inch the white pepper and leather was still very present but there was a little edge to it so I felt like maybe I should have waited after all. You could tell the cigar is still young as the flavors aren't balanced just yet. The only flavor I'm getting through the first third of this cigar was white pepper and very strong leather. The ash was nice and tight and I was impressed at how it held.
The ash gave way heading into the second third and this is when I noticed a nice change. There was a nice bit of fruit and raisin now in the background, and on the exhale it was strong in the nose. The leather was still there but the pepper had settled down very much. I enjoyed turning this cigar as I smoked it and kept trying to think what it's going to taste like in six months.
I hit the midway point of this cigar in about an hour and fifteen minutes and couldn't wait to see how the final third worked out.
Going into the last half hour of this smoke is when I thought the strong leather and hint of pepper came out strong again. It pretty much stayed that way till I put it out.
Two hours and twenty minutes total!
My final thoughts on this cigar was mixed. I really think it needs time to settle and as much as I liked it, I didn't get that cc feel others have gotten. To me this was a good smoke but still young on not refined yet. I really think aging this cigar is going to do wonders for it. This cigar to me is just beautiful and as much as I love Conn. Broadleaf, I thought the rosado helped bring out this cigars flavors.
In a nut shell a good cigar and with time a great cigar. Yes I'm glad I baught a box and I would recommend this cigar for all to try.
