  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Red red wine?

Okay, so I am a bit behind in the Tatuaje craze, but finally had a change to sit down and sample one.

Props to Don who sent me this as part of the Super Bowl Squares winnings...Thanks, Bro!

This torpedo had a very nice wrapper...Fairly smooth.

Clipped off the tip, and saw the first element of good construction...The cone (tip) that came off was tightly packed, showing great care to finish this cigar well.

Toasted and lit, releasing subtle aromas of leather and pepper.

The first third was nice...Creamy, smooth, and a mysterious background of dark berries....Something that I could not identify right away. Notes of pepper and slight earthiness.

During the second third that unidentifiable flavor strengthened, and became clear...It was the flavor of tannin, found in red wines. Not bitter, but a red wine-like flavor.

The ash held well...No flakes, good texture.

The last third became slightly more intense, but very well balanced. Creamy textures of tannin, earth, and notes of black pepper...Nice stogie!

Although I am not sure it's worth all the hype, it was a great, enjoyable well constructed cigar.

I really like the artistas. Thanks for the review. I don't drink so the tannin flavor I could not ID. Good smoke. I found that I had to cut off a healthy tip to get a good draw. did u find that also?

No, I lopped off a half inch or less, and had a good draw.

Reminded me of the La Perla Habana Rojo...Ever tried that one?
